Practicing Gratitude this Thanksgiving

It’s easy to be swept into the minutiae of the Thanksgiving holidays. We have to organize and clear the clutter to prepare our homes for family and friends. We have to look up recipes, create meal plans, shop, clean and prep. We have to find the good dishes and set the table. We can be so busy we sometimes forget to stop and actually give thanks, but the act of practicing gratitude can have far reaching effects on our mental, physical, and spiritual well being, and can make accomplishing tasks that seem monumental far less challenging.

The Thanksgiving chores listed above are a great starting point to expressing selfless gratitude by affirming your bounties. You can affirm the good of having people in your life to celebrate with; you can affirm the good of having a home to welcome them into; you can affirm the good of having the resources to shop for Thanksgiving dinner, and you can affirm the good of yourself and your loved ones being safe, healthy, and sheltered.

You can also affirm conscious gratitude to your family, friends, teachers, benefactors, and all those who have come before you who have made it possible for your existence to be comfortable, informed, and empowered.

This year we are practicing gratitude to you, our friends, family, vendors, partners and loyal clients, for helping Call Sheilah! grow from one person with a van and a plan to a team of passionate people doing what we love. We are grateful for your support, encouragement, and trust in our mission – to help those who ask for help. We know we aren’t doing it on our own, and we hold space in our hearts for each and every one of you.

As always, if you find yourself in need of help with your holiday chores, just Call Sheilah!

Happy Thanksgiving!
